What does Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) mean for you?

Apr 18, 2024

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is here! What impact will this have on your planning application?

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) was made mandatory in almost all planning applications from the 2nd of April 2024.

The Biodiversity Net Gain information is required in the first step of submitting a planning application, and therefore an application cannot move forward without it!

This article will outline what that means to those considering a planning application including who, and how, they will be affected.

Please note that there is still very little guidance on Biodiversity Net Gain – especially for rural planning applications - we are working hard to find out as much information as possible within these early days!

Is recruitment limiting the growth of your dairy business?

Apr 16, 2024

We are delighted to be featured in the British Dairying newsletter this week.

Many of our clients are dairy farmers who want to grow their business but a lack of quality accommodation is affecting their ability to recruit good workers on the farm.

There is a real possibility that those farmers may be able to use rural planning to overcome these problems and achieve planning for an Agricultural or Rural Workers Dwelling.

Do I need planning for a dog walking field?

Mar 05, 2024

We get lots of enquiries about whether you need planning permission for dog walking fields.

The short answer is YES.

When you fence and enclose an agricultural field and start using it for dog walking, you have changed the use of that field away from agriculture. This change of use requires planning permission.

If this is something that you are considering then read on for further information or call us on 01299 667344
