Do you need planning for a new agricultural gateway?

If you are creating a new gateway onto a road classified as A, B or C, then you will need planning consent from your local planning authority.

However, if the lane or track is unclassified, permission is not required unless substantial engineering works are involved such as soil excavation and/or bank excavation.

IAgSA is the Institute of Agricultural Secretaries & Administrators. Incorporated in 1967, this is a professional organisation whose members offer a wide range of services to farming and rural businesses in the UK. IAgSA is respected throughout the farming and rural business industry.

This year the IAgSA conference is being hosted by the Derbyshire branch and is entitled "What now?" and is being held from 1st March to 3rd March 2024.
