Pig Rearing Buildings and Muck Store Planning Permission

As part of a farm expansion project, our clients required help preparing a full planning application for two large pig rearing buildings and an integrated muck store.

With the site located within the Green Belt and adjacent to several Listed Features, we had to demonstrate that these were not adversely affected by the proposal.

Whilst the main applications for the pig sheds were relatively straight forward, the muck store proved more difficult, with the conservation officer recommending refusal.

Summary

To help prepare a full planning application for two large pig rearing buildings, as part of a farm expansion project.

Following additional research and budgeting, the client instructed us to also apply for an integrated muck store.

As this project was located within the Green Belt and adjacent to several Listed Features, we had to demonstrate these were not adversely affected by the proposal. We managed the whole project and worked with third parties to provide evidence the buildings would comply with regulations and not have an adverse impact on the local landscape or neighbouring properties.

APPROVED

"Whilst the main application for the sheds was relatively straight forward, it was still vital to work together with the Council to deal with their concerns. However, the Muck Store was more difficult, with the conservation officer recommending refusal. We insisted on a site visit with the Conservation Officer so that we could demonstrate that their concerns could be overcome."
