Glamping Shepherd Huts Planning Permission

Our client required a change of use at their site to allow for the placement of two shepherd huts and one log chalet at the site. This would provide holiday accommodation throughout the year. The self-contained holiday accommodation will provide small scale high end self-catering facilities for weekend breaks, short stays or longer holidays.

We submitted a planning application that highlighted the benefits to local businesses, the intelligent design which was sympathetic to the surrounding area and the market our client was aiming for.

For The Rural Planning Co to advise on the acceptability of the proposal within the locality and assess whether there would be any major stumbling blocks. On this basis a strategic planning application was prepared and submitted.

The design of the site had to ensure there would be no negative visual impact, especially in light of local objections, so landscaping was key. The application ended up at planning committee. We helped the committee see the benefits of the development, resulting in a positive outcome. The site has since been expanded.
