The Rural Planning Co have secured planning approval for a new Live-Work unit in Wychavon DC.

The applicant wished to build a new live/work unit on the site historically occupied by a traditional agricultural building. It was required for the applicant's son to set up his own bespoke business.

Our Architectural Technician, Nadia Amietszajew, has designed the building to be in keeping with the adjacent agricultural building and neighbouring dwellings, reflecting the mixed-use nature of the proposal. The materials, scale and massing of the proposed unit have been carefully balanced with the needs of the applicant and the requirements of the planning policy.

There was one objection from the local Parish Council as the application was considered to be outside the defined development boundary, and therefore within the open countryside. However, the Planning Officer approved it under delegated powers, rightly deciding that National Policy supports live/work accommodation where specific criteria are met.

Call us if you have plans for live/work accommodation on your site. We can offer help and advice.
