Class Q is a really important area of planning for rural communities allowing the conversion of agricultural buildings to residential dwellings. In the last 12 months the team at The Rural Planning Co have successfully achieved Class Q planning on over 40 dwellings.
If you have a redundant agricultural barn on your farm and this is something that interests you, this Q&A with Hannah Moule on our YouTube channel will interest you.
In a series of video's, each lasting between only 3 and 10 minutes, we ask Hannah questions such as:
- What is Class Q, what types of buildings are suitable?
- Please give us an update on the main changes that came into force on the 21st May.
- Once you've achieved Class Q permitted development, is it possible to change the design?
- If someone has an agricultural building suitable for permitted development but they don't want to use it for residential use, what are the other options?
- If someone watching has a potential Class Q building, how can they find out if it is suitable and move forward to an application?
