The government has just announced changes to Agricultural, Class Q and Class R permitted development rights from 21st May 2024.
NEW AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS - More space..
- Increase in permitted development Part 6 from 1000m2 to 1500m2
CLASS Q - More options, more homes (but smaller)..
- Maximum amount of space that can be converted is 1000m2 and up to 10 dwellings per holding
- But, each dwelling can only be a maximum of 150m2
- You can have rear extensions of up to 4m on hardstanding that already exists
- A greater number of agricultural barns now qualify, including those no longer used for agricultural purposes
CLASS R - More flexibility..
- Has been increased from 500m2 to 1000m2
- The range of commercial uses has been extended
