A short statement (or few ramblings) from Hannah Moule

16th September 2020

This year we celebrated (or didn’t really celebrate as it turned out..) our 10th year in business. It started out with just little old me, a laptop and 20 lovely clients. By a combination of mostly luck and a tiny bit of judgement, we are proud of the business we have grown into, with now over 800 clients and a wonderful team behind Moule & Co.

We consider ourselves enormously lucky to work within an exciting and varied farming and rural industry, and with wonderful people we are fortunate enough to call our clients.

Over the last five years we have experienced a huge surge in demand for our planning services, and this has increased tenfold since 2015, to the point where now over 70% of our work is planning related.

Earlier this year we made the decision to grow our planning business further, both in terms of geographical reach but also our market share. To reflect this, we are making some exciting changes to our business. Whilst still trading as Moule & Co Ltd, we are effectively splitting the business in two parts. Moule & Co Rural will continue to offer the same, mixed practice rural professional advice we always have, and this will be ably headed up by Melanie Holt who will be known to many of you.

To pursue our goals for growth in the planning sector, we are rebranding to be a little more ‘it does what it says on the tin’ to be The Rural Planning Co, and specialising in Agriculture, Equestrian, Rural Business and Residential. Eight of our existing team are moving into this new business team, including Angela Cantrill a very experienced planner and surveyor based in Shropshire, and Justin de Vries, previously a Wychavon Planning Officer who brings with him some tricks of the trade.

Alongside these changes, I am delighted to announce that Sally Moore, who is a very important part of our business and has hugely contributed to the growth of the business (as well as putting up with me for over 8 years), has been appointed to the position of Managing Director of Moule & Co Ltd, overseeing the running of both the rural and planning departments.

Our new planning website has been launched today, there are still some areas to be uploaded and finished in the next week or so, but we’d love you to have a look around it and let us know what you think.

Here’s to the next 10 years, let’s hope they are as much fun.....
